Excellent company to book the trip in Nepal
I have spent a month in Nepal. I booked tours with two companies. first two weeks I spent on cycling thru Kathmandu valley and visit Chitwan Park, then I booked with Bal Hiking Team the Everest Base Camp trekking tour. It was my pleasure to work with this company. They are very professional and very responsive. Our guide Bal has very good knowledge about Himalaya culture and environment we were hiking in. He also showed leadership skills. In difficult situation when one of our team members in Lobuche needed helicopter evacuation the company was on the top of situation and arranged flight to Kathmandu plus company arranged drive to hospital in Kathmandu. They were all the time with the person in need. Thank you, Bal, for arranging this trip. It was great experience and memorable trip. I was able to complete the whole trek and thanks to our guide for advices and help during our hiking. This is a company to book your tour in Nepal and I will in the future. I feel safe to book the trip with them.

We had a wonderful experience with/ Bal Hiking Team. Bal quickly and thoroughly responded to all my questions (there were many!) before the trip. Once we landed, everything was taken care of and we never had to worry about anything. You can tell that Bal and his friends Prakash care a lot about giving great customer service. For example, my husband left his sunglasses in our driver's car during the Kathmandu sightseeing tour. I emailed Bal late that evening (the night before the trek) and had an immediate response that he would send the same driver to take us to the airport for the Lukla flight.
If you are doing any trek, the one thing you must do is REQUEST PRAKASH RAI TO BE YOUR GUIDE! I cannot stress this enough. He made our trip. We went in the busy season so had the chance to observe several other guides. My husband and I commented to each other every single day how lucky we were to have Prakash. He's everything you want in both a guide and a friend. He's knowledgeable, smart, caring, one of the most honest people I have ever met, kind, always looking out for his clients, funny, etc! To highlight how caring he was: I didn't feel well one evening and decided to skip dinner and go straight to bed. Prakash comes knocking on my door and made me eat garlic soup (a mountain altitude sickness remedy). I found out later that he slept that evening on the dining room floor because he knew I would come there if I didn't feel well during the night. How sweet is that? And, he's just a fun person to hang out with! My husband and I had a blast laughing and playing cards with him every night during the trek. Prakash used to be a porter and worked hard to learn English and become a guide. He's worked as a porter and a guide for his entire life so he knows the Himalayas like the back of his hand. It seems like everyone on the mountain knows him, too. Almost everyone we passed was calling out his name, shaking his hand, etc. A guide from a different company even asked Prakash for advice on where to take his clients. Prakash knows all the best teahouses to stay at and places to stop for lunch. You'll have the best time and leave with a lifelong friend. You can thank me later! : )

Manaslu Circuit and Tsum Valley treks
Bal and Bal Hiking Team are a professional outfit. They organised an excellent hike for us around the Manaslu Circuit and Tsum Valley treks at very short notice and made everything much easier than the other agencies we dealt with. The pre-holiday service was exceptional, with prompt email responses, and Bal provided us with all the information we needed. On arrival in Kathmandu we were looked after very well and everything was perfectly organised up until the moment when we left. They even accommodated various changes to our itinerary during the hike.
During the hike we had a guide, Bal, and a porter, Shanka. Both were excellent. Bal provided us with a detailed itinerary each day, offered us as much information as we wanted during the hike and looked after us very well - paying careful attention to any altitude sickness symptoms, and was quick to help us across difficult hiking sections. Shanka was a great trekking companion and his help went far beyond what we expected - he was knowledgable about trekking in Nepal, spoke very good English and was great fun to spend time with us .

Tsum Valley Treks , unforgettable
We decided on Bal Hiking Team for our Tsum Valley Trek as one of us has previously trekked with the company. Bal and his team lived up to all the expectations. From being met at the airport, keeping us informed throughout, the trek itself. Everything was seamless. The trek itself was guided by Bal, who is an absolutely amazing guide, knowledgeable, thoughtful, considerate and fun to be around. We loved every minute of our trek - even the muddy bits in pouring rain. Having trekked with other companies in Nepal before, I cannot imagine booking with anyone else from now.

Best Treks Gokey Treks
Great experience, everything was very well organized at the same time pretty flexible. We very able to change the itinerary based on the health conditions of the travelers. Bal Hiking Team made an effort to put us in the best tea houses on the trek, so when one else had hot showers and power outlets we did.
Our guide Bal was awesome. But don't believe him when he promises you a "gentle uphill walk" it's a lie :-) (joking.)

Bal Hiking team is the best.
We contacted over 10 company's in our search for a trek. Bal Hiking team was the most responsive and comprehensive in working with prior to our book and beyond. Typically we would get a response within 6 hours, which was remarkable given the time change. One amazing thing was you are able to pay ahead of time, which was great to not have to worry about carrying a bunch of cash on our trip.
Every detail was taken care of for us. From the airport transfer, to the hotel in Kathmandu, our transport to and from the trek start, permits and a wonderful guide and porter. Our trek guide, Bal Kumar, was so nice, professional, experienced and a pleasure to be around. We would highly recommend requesting Bal for your trek.

Ghorepani Poon Hill trek
My husband and I did a 6-day trip to Nepal in early January 2018. We didn't have time to plan the trip so we contacted Bal from the Bal Hiking Team to arrange the ground travelling. With less than 2 months, Bal did an excellent job in arranging our itinerary. He responded fast to our inquiries and was very professional.
The whole trip was well organised, from the day we arrived to the day we went home. Bal and his team (guide and driver) were always punctual and trustworthy. We had an excellent guide, Bal who was very patient with us and he was very accommodating. Our journey to Poon Hill was very pleasant and picturesque. We highly recommend others to contact Bal for a journey of a lifetime in Nepal.

Perfect ABC trek
I choose Bal Hiking Team , and want go solo traveler but we had a small group with two other kind people, our guide Bal and our two porters Lochan and Robin. I want to name them because they really did an amazing job, always happy and helpful, there was nothing impossible for them and you could feel the warm welcome that they want us to have some fantastic days without any worries. They are a real credit for the team, I hope to see them again in an other trek and be able to learn some Nepalese, the time was flying and we never "csejt" :)
I almost couldn't get back to Katmandu from Pokhara because of flight cancellation, but Bal didn't just drop me off on the airport but stayed till everything was sorted out and managed to change the flight so I could fly back.
The whole experience was just perfect, from the airport pick-up till the drop-off and also management was correct!
Annapurna range is breathtaking, enjoyed every moment of it. I would suggest if someone has more time to spend some days after trek in Pokhara, such a lovely place! Take water bottle to refill!

My sister and I were looking for an athletic adventure in a far off land. Our quest took us to the Himalayas and the climb to might Mt Everest base camp. My sister is an avid marathoner and I am decent athlete, so we felt we were up to the challenge. First to find the right tour group to assist us, two fifty somethings, on our journey. We chose the Bal Hiking Team. From the first e-mail contact, Mr Bal was as good as gold, answering our questions and concerns, handling all the necessary paperwork. He was efficient and prompt with his responses as well as extremely kind and caring. Funny, where someone was extremely critical of him. I guess there is alway one person out there that's different, but let me reassure you, you are in very good hands with Mr. Bal. From the moment we stepped off the plane all of your needs are met. Clean comfortable welcoming hotel, meals, a free tour of all of the most famous sites in Kathmandu. All included in your fee. My sister and i actually took advantage of using their sleeping bags and heavy winter coats. They were brand new North Face. It was great. We didn't have to lug extra stuff with us. As our journey up the Mountain began, as a guide Bal and Baszel were attending to our every need. They spoke english well, described the beautiful landscape and looked out for our welfare on the hike. Once settled into our first tea house, they knocked on our door and asked if we were ok and needed anything. They arrange our meals, served us and made sure we had what we needed for the next day. I have the impression that they are very well respected guides because everyone on the hike knew them and greeted them with warm smiles and hugs. Our guides are also very good at haggling with the vendors for a good price, not letting us get taken.. Quite honestly, I liked getting taken on a price, giving back to the community there is what its all about. They share their incredible beauty,inside and out, and we support them with our generosity, Back to the hike.. Well as it turns out, my sister sprinted up the mountain with our group of 6. I, unfortunately contracted e. coli
and became very sick. This is where you really appreciate the guide service you are with. After several day, I told my group to move on without me. I had the decision to rest and continue or go down. As a medical professional, I knew I didn't have it in me to continue. I was starting to feel the altitude at 1400 feet and each step felt like I just finished a rowing race. So, Mr Bal arrange for me to have one guide stay with me the entire time, took me to the local hospital and babied me throw my GI issues. I am so grateful, I was an older woman alone four days up a mountain in rustic conditions super sick. My guide check in on me ever few hours, tried to get me to eat and made sure I drank the right fluids. The next day they flew me down to Lukla then to Kathmandu. and he staff picked me up at the airport and took me to our hotel..Feeling better, he offered several other trips to compensate me, but I was perfectly fine to lay low for a few days. Our hotel, Apsara Boutique Hotel, is so cute and the staff is lovely. Im so grateful we stayed there. My sister and our group made it to base camp, I recovered and looking forward to our next adventure. Visiting Nepal is a once in a life time experience. The beauty of its people and natural beauty can not be captured in a picture. Its poetry and a spiritual experience that you have to be there to understand. I hope you have the opportunity to experience it someday. If so, give Mr Bal a call. He'll take good care of you.
